We are creating one of the most fascinating and immersive museums on the planet.

Imagine walking through a Stargate to a destination that houses the most awe-inspiring and thought-provoking artifacts from the best imaginations in science fiction. Refuel a full-size X-Wing Starfighter or open a time portal with your smartphone. These are just some of the ideas we hope to bring to life.

We're planning everything now: sights, sounds, new ways to interact with exhibits. Want to arm a 2-meter photon torpedo? You'll be able to do that with a wireless device at the Museum of Science Fiction. Our planners are visionaries. They aspire to create a high-tech, futuristic physical museum that engages its visitors and ignites the imagination. Science fiction is the perfect genre for doing just that. The history of science fiction lets you step into the future by looking into the past.

Our approach begins with a web-based blueprint—an online museum. You're visiting it now. This blueprint allows you to see our progress, make suggestions, and share your ideas.

Why are we doing this?

Education is central to our mission. We believe that the science fiction presents an ideal device for sparking interest and spurring proficiency in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). But we'd like to go beyond STEM and broaden our focus to include the arts. We call it STEAM. We want to give teachers new tools. Cool tools that kids will love to use. Combined with inspiration and imagination, and creativity fueled by science fiction, our prospects look bright.

We have assembled a very talented team, but we can’t do it alone.

We welcome your involvement and support. To receive a copy of the museum’s planning document, please donate and download our prospectus. This document explains the who, what, where, when, how, and why behind the project.

If you have ideas to share or would like to volunteer, visit our contact page. Meanwhile, please have a look around our site and watch us evolve. With your help, we will make this happen.

Appreciatively,

Greg Viggiano, PhD
