Open Call for Panels
Submission deadline December 15, 2018
The Museum of Science Fiction is accepting panel proposal submissions for all programming tracks at Escape Velocity 2019. Submission areas include: Science, Education, Literature, Film, Popular Culture, Costuming, and Gaming. We welcome proposals for individual presentations, roundtable discussions, workshops, film screenings, performances, educational experiences, and activities.
The theme for this year’s Escape Velocity Conference is “Technology,” a broad term which encompasses both the factual and the fictional aspects of science and science fiction. Special consideration will be given to submissions that explore, display, or discuss technology, but proposals focused on any and all aspects of science and speculative fiction are welcome.
In your submission, be sure to include a working title, a description of the content proposed, and an indication of which track(s) and type(s) of programming you envision in your proposal.
All submissions must be completed by December 15th. Proposals submitted after the deadline may be considered on a case-by-case basis, but review for 2019 programming can only be guaranteed for those submissions entered on or before December 15th. The authors of selected submissions will be notified by January 15th.
We look forward to hearing from you!
